Feed your Body, Feed your Heart, Feed your Soul

Life in our small community of Chevery, Quebec revolves around volunteerism and helping others. We teach our children from an early age to look around and see what they can do for others. This year we would like to start a bakery and have the students interact with the seniors of our community. This would provide a link between the seniors and the students but also help the students learn new tasks and skills from someone who was older and has more skills. As one gets older one sometimes feels like they are not of as much use to the community any more. This project would help the seniors feel less lonely and more useful. It would also help to keep their recipes alive for the next generation.

Mise à jour (26 mai 2014)

Our project is well underway and we have accomplished so much. We have opened our bakery twice and have made over 300 dollars. We donated 175 dollars to the relief fund in the Philippines and we have donated the rest to the Hilde Back Education Fund in Kenya. We are presently working with the seniors help to keep all the old recipes alive and at the same time we are baking muffins to help raise enough money to adopt an elephant.
