The Winnipeg Foundation and the Winnipeg Chinese Community Centre have provided us with funds for parts of this project (creation of a mural and Mandarin Chinese lessons for the children)

The Rights of the Child

Students will study the UN Rights of The Child. The , working with a local artist, students will create a silk screen image of themselves. Included in the silk screen will be their writing about one of the Rights of the child. The finished projects will be displayed in the Winnipeg Centennial Library and some will be sent to China as a part of an international children's art exhibition.

Mise à jour (18 octobre 2012)

Students completed their project with local print-maker Karen Cornelius. Children learned about the Rights of the Child and then created artwork reflecting these rights. Their work is currently on display at Winnipeg's Millennium Library. The work will then travel to China where it will be included in a children's art exhibition.
