THRIVE

LISTEN, I READ
BOOK: FISHTAILING
AUTHOR: WENDY PHILLIPS

Many of our students are turning to self-harm and detrimental ways of coping with the trauma and stress in their lives. This will springboard conversations about wellness and healthy lifestyles. It will help the teens see that they are not alone and that they can help others by sharing their own stories. It will be linked with the 40 Developmental Assets framework around THRIVE and SPARK

Mise à jour (16 mai 2012)

We started our novel last week. The students are really enjoying the content and are loving the fact that the poetry is a quick read but still providing details of the complex relationships. They have found that even when we were still in the first chapter, there was a large list of "issues" that the four teens were dealing with.

Students have made comments such as "I love this book" - "Can I take this home to finish?"
"Can I read the part of Kyle? "(before class even starts)
