LISTEN, I READ
BOOK: A COMPLICATED KINDNESS
AUTHOR: MYRIAM TOEWS

The project involves our school book-club. Our goal is to demonstrate the power of literature to inspire and encourage our students to develop and foster a sense of community. We will use the book to examine character and conflict with the goal of developing a greater sense of empathy in our schools, communities and individual lives.

Update (April 2, 2012)

We have recieved our books and we are ready to get rolling. I have been in touch with Miriam Toews. She is excited that we have chosen her book A Complicated Kindness, and is even more excited to visit our school; staff and students are looking forward to her visit.
