King Edward Students are M.A.D. - Imagine a Day

LISTEN, I READ
BOOK: IMAGINE A DAY
AUTHOR: ROB GONSALVES

Our project: King Edward Students are M.A.D. – Making A Difference is a student led project that promotes various leadership opportunities and encourage student participation and citizenship within our school community. In cooperation with our School Improvement Plan, our goal with this project is to provide opportunities for our students to be acknowledged for making a positive difference at our school. The book, Imagine a Day - fits perfectly with our themes of active and participatory citizenship and leadership. We hope to use the book during assemblies and through reading buddy programs, visiting classes to help other students gain the courage and support needed to make a difference at our school and more importantly in their own lives. One goal is to provide mini-workshops to classes, create displays throughout the school, and promote our school activities through assemblies and our school website that our school is a great place, not just because of the teachers, but because of the students and their willingness to be involved, understanding, respectful, inclusive and cooperative. By utilizing these characteristics into our awareness program, we can enhance our character counts program and reinforce that when all students are working together, we can really make a difference. Ideally, our main goal is to develop a sustainable belief in our school that we all can make things better, if we all work together.

Mise à jour (6 novembre 2012)

Our project at King Edward has taken its own path and I am looking forward to having the opportunity to continue to work with Rob Gonsalves in the upcoming school year. Thanks to Imagineaction and the “Listen, I Read” initiative, for giving us the opportunity to put our imagination to work and allow us to continue to work on this project into the future. Below are some of the pictures taken during our journey. Thanks again to Imagineaction for providing us the opportunity to Imagine a Day!
