Best Buddies

Bishop Grandin would like to grow and develop a fun lunch friendship club which pairs students with intellectual disabilities and mainstream students. Often, individuals with intellectual disabilities do not have the chance to interact in a social setting or have many friends. Our program will be grounded in the belief that friendship is important to the development of all individuals and that for all people with intellectual disabilities; friendship is a medium through which they can become a part of their communities. This program will enhance school community by developing leadership skills, and by developing the understanding that all people have worthwhile contributions to make.
