Equal Education for First Nations

Our class will continue to learn about aboriginal people's history in Canada and make connections to contemporary realities. We are focusing on Shannen's Dream and writing letters to Prime Minister Harper. We are participating in Project of Heart and working with Cindy Blackstock of the First Nation's Child and Family Caring Society. We will participate in Have a Heart Day on Feb 14, 2013 and I am a Witness day on June 11th, 2013. We hope to build relationships with Aboriginal communities. We hope to raise awareness in other community schools by visiting and sharing our work on Shannen's Dream.
