Healthy Eating and Active Living
Healthy eating is important in order to obtain adequate amounts of nutrients essential for good health, growth and development. Making good choices in life is essential. Watching what you eat and drink and being physically active are important to achieve and keep a healthy body weight. In return, staying healthy helps students attention (staying focus). Healthy food and an active lifestyle promotes energy. There are many benefits.

Update (February 4, 2019)

It has been three weeks and my students are busy learning about some healthy ways to prepare snacks for their lunch. We have spoken about pineapple, canary melon and cantaloupe. We have spoken about the nutritional values and the places where they are grown. We have watched videos and have read informational flyers prepared by the teacher (me).

The kids are really enjoying tasting different fruit.

Update (April 9, 2019)

Today, We created homemade healthy milk shakes. I showed the students how to create a milk shake by using simple ingredients that are quick and healthy. It was a quick energy boost first thing in the morning for all students.

Recipe:
Vanilla Almond Milk
Vanilla Yogurt
Fresh frozen berries.
Mix it up in a blender and serve.
