Safe Harbor / Vegetable Garden

We will plant a garden beginning in April at the school. Towards the end of May beginning of Sept we will then transplant the seeds into a Community Garden for Safe Harbour in Saint John, NB.

Mise à jour (11 juin 2018)

This has been an awesome project for our students to be involved in. Through buying seeds and plants, planting the garden and improving the lives of homeless youth in New Brunswick - Hampton Middle School students stood up to the challenge.

We at Hampton Middle School - Me to WE team are so happy to share what we did with our 300.00 subsidy. In addition to supplying vegetable plants and herbs, we took each plant and planted them in a garden. Over the summer we will be harvesting these items, and donating them to a youth shelter. Any additional produce that they are unable to use will then be donated to a local food bank. In September and October we will then be taught how to can the vegetables, and will donate them to the youth shelter to provide them with healthy meal choices over the fall and winter.
