Grade 8 Camp

Middle years is a challenging age for development and relationships. As students face the transition to secondary education, we use camp as an opportunity to connect and engage students. Students are able to build and strengthen relationships as they choose the person they will be. Camp is designed to give all students with different economic situations the chance to connect with others and have outdoor experiences.

Update (November 17, 2016)

We have currently registered 80 of our 105 grade 8 students for camp. The event has been booked with Camp Arnes for June 19-21. We have enrolled some dynamic personalities from our grade 8 team, school and division to act as guides and supports to our students. We have currently identified two students who will receive financial support through the grant provided by CTF after fundraising has been completed. Our next steps will be to create friend groups for cabins and activities. We will also look at developing programing unique to our students. These programs will be student driven and emphasize community and healthy living.
