Working Together for a Better Tomorrow

We are part of the Jewish General Hospital, child Psychiatry Unit. We work with students that have psychiatric diagnosis, and teach them tools to ensure their re-integration in their community schools. We would like to impart on these students the importance of thinking about others in their social environment, as well as taking care of their personal space and the environment they live in. This project will highlight the importance of working as a team in order to accomplish a common goal. In addition, we would like to demonstrate how to plant, what is needed to create a garden, how we work in the garden, how we use compost to "feed" the garden, and how growing, gardening, working with your hands, and working as a team enriches, our being, our friendships, and our stomachs! We will use the food from the garden to cook healthy food as well, teaching our students how essential healthy eating and nutrition is to well-being.

Mise à jour (7 juin 2016)

A new update regarding the garden! The garden is doing so well, and the students are so interested in the project!

They make sure to check out the progress made over the weekend and their days out! Yesterday, they picked two radishes! They fought over them, but that's the next challenge!
