Touch your Hearts with Music

The community of Chevery is very small with only 300 people. The history of the community is based on oral traditions and creating your own entertainment because electricity did not come to Chevery until the 1970's. People would go to each others houses and have parties with mummers (A traditional practice of disguising one self that originates in Newfoundland.) and music. So by incorporating music and drama into this project "Touch Your Hearts with Music" will bring back the old traditions of years gone by. The village of Chevery does not have a theatre to fulfill this need to bring music and drama to the people of the community. The Netagamiou Drama class has performed one play a year for the last 5 years and last year we performed two for the village. We are sadly lacking in equipment to continue to do this for our village. We need to increase our ability to create dvd's as well as invest in more music, props and costumes.

Mise à jour (22 janvier 2013)

In the project Touch your Hearts with music there has been several updates. We created the DVD for the Netagamiou Grand Ole Opry and sold them in November and December. We sold 47 copies. In our small Village that is a accomplishment. We are still selling more as well. At Christmas time we had a Christmas Concert and the Touch your Hearts with music children sang 4 Christmas songs with costumes and actions. At this time we are gearing up for our Rock Chevery play on Rock 'n Roll from the 1950's to the 1980's. We will be having 20 children perform.

Mise à jour (20 juin 2013)

It is the end of June and our project is complete for this year . The gala of Rock and Roll in Chevery was a success. We had over 100 people come and we raised about 400 dollars. We used the money for rent of the hall and various other expenses. After the gala we created a DVD which is still for sale in Chevery. Thanks again
