Keep The Promise

We will participate in at least 3 (possibly more, depending on student suggestions) activities to raise funds and items for local community groups. We have participated in Habitat for Humanity's essay writing contest (every entry equals $5 for Habitat), we are conducting a We Scare Hunger campaign in association with Free the Children (food goes to Winnipeg Harvest), and we are looking at having an "art sale" where proceeds go to a local charity (Habitat, Harvest, or a similar organization), but are leaving this 3rd action open to allow for student suggestions and ideas. We believe that allowing the students to have more voice in the development of an initiative, will encourage greater ownership and participation, as well as support deeper learning.
