HOPE-- Helping Our Planet Endure

The goal of our project is to unite students, teachers, parents and the community in a collaborative experience that incorporates the essential elements of the Primary Years Program (PYP) through planning, research, action and presentation. This year, the students will be focusing on how we share the planet and inquiring into the human responsibility that we have as global citizens. They will focus on various environmental issues that are affecting the world in which we live. The students will be performing a number of student initiated action based on the chosen environmental area of focus for each group and will be presenting their projects at Edmonton City Hall, as well as a community gathering at the school—educating the public as a part of our action.

Update (January 13, 2012)

The students have completed their final presentations and have all contributed to our 'whole class' mural. The painting represents all of the 'things' worth saving on this beautiful planet we inhabit.
