The RESPECT Project
We tell children every day that they have the power within them to change the world, to make it a better place for their families, friends, strangers and themselves. But how can children do this? 50 Middle Level students at Cambridge-Narrows Community School will be focusing this year on developing RESPECTFUL behaviours. Students will practice acting in respectful ways. When teachers and peers catch students acting respectfully, they will award a RESPECT BUCK. Students will pool those RESPECT BUCKS to "purchase" food from our makeshift grocery store and donate it to the Good Samaritan Food Bank.
Update
(May 7, 2014)
Our middle level students are very busy doing good deeds and random acts of kindness. For every good deed that they do, they will receive 1 non-perishable food item that will be donated to the local food bank. The students are enjoying this experience of doing good things and then paying it forward to the food bank.
