GSA

Our Gay Straight Alliance Group would like to bring in The Rainbow Workshops to our School.
The workshops have been designed for gay-straight student alliances to help explore these themes through arts-based and leadership activities.
These workshops have been developed by the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services, in partnership with Edmonton Public Schools.

Update (March 6, 2012)

We have our first Rainbow Workshop booked for the 9th of March and the second for the 16th.
Can't wait!

Update (June 12, 2012)

We invited the Rainbow Workshops to our GSA for 6 weeks. The Rainbow workshops were offered through ISMISS at the University of Alberta.
The first set of 6 workshops were about organizing and running our GSA.
We learned that as a group we wanted to be more active in our school and our town communities. We decide that a good way to do this was to pair up with other student groups and help support and take part in their activities.
So our first partnership was with our SADD chapter at school and we participated in their 24 hour Spin-A-Thon.
It was a success and really hit our goal as the activity was a town and a school event.
Yay GSA!!!!

Update (June 12, 2012)

We continued with the workshops. The final 3 were art based. We created some wonderful pieces. We did Zen Tangles, some random rainbow art and print making.
Loved the Print making!
These projects really brought the group together we had a lovely time.
We then took part in a school based Art Exhibit with some of our projects as well we have several displayed in the front Office.
