Our courses are theme based. I can foresee us using this text with our current Grade 11s, whose theme is 'Heroism & Facing Adversity' as well as Grade 12s, who always have the theme of 'The 3 Is: Identity, Individuality & Independence.' Alongside our traditional study, we could easily use this as a catalyst to create video(s) to encourage social action or awareness.

Students engaged with the book. They really liked the fact that the book was "local" a Manitoba book, with places that they could relate to.
