Ping Pong Positive

The Ping Pong Positive project was created to promote awareness about depression and how it affects everyone. The plan is to interview as many people as possible on the subject of depression and create small digital videos to be shown on a new web site under construction (www.pingpongpositive.org). Each person interviewed will be given a custom ping-pong ball with the Ping Pong Positive logo and website address on it. The idea behind the distribution of the ping pong balls is that when a person receives a ping pong ball, they should also receive a compliment. Therefore, as the ping pong balls are passed forward, the compliments help make each person’s day brighter. The website will host videos as well as facts about depression and support. Every person who receives a ping-pong ball is encouraged to go to the website and share their story as to how they were given their ping-pong ball and where they received it. The large goal of this project is that the campaign will have a positive effect in hundreds of people’s lives.

Graeme Carlson is continuing to have a tremendous effect on youth and teachers across the province of Manitoba. His Ping Pong Positive campaign has expanded several time and the ping pong balls distributed have found their way around the world.

Graeme Carlson's Ping Pong Positive Project is now gaining more attention from teachers across the province as a shining example of a Take Action Project. Graeme has now been asked by the provincial government to speak at several engagements around the capital region and he is inspiring others to take on projects that will make a difference.
