Kids Knit

Knitting has become a lost art. This year four grade seven members of our social justice committee have learned to knit. It is our goal to start a knitting club at our school next academic year with these four students acting as mentors to teach other students to knit scarves for the homeless. We have worked with Scott mission in the past and would like to donate the finished products to them and other homeless shelters.

Update (September 21, 2012)

The Kid-Knits knitting club composed of students in grades 4-8 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic School in Concord, ON learned to knit and make scarves for charity. The students worked extremely hard during the lunch hour recesses to complete 33 scarves which were donated to Scott Mission homeless shelter prior to Christmas 2012. The students not only embraced the art of giving, but also learned an invaluable skill that they can share with others throughout their school career and beyond. Well done, Kid-Knits!!
