Making a Difference
Students work individually or in pairs to develop a social action project which directly makes a difference in the lives of others. They document their projects using digital photos and video and create a multi-media component which augments an oral presentation of their completed project. The students create a culminating video for next year's project participants as a legacy.
Update
(October 15, 2012)
Students made excellent use of the user-friendly Flip video cameras to document their local, social-action initiatives. They had to prove how they made a direct difference in the lives of other; i.e. it was not enough to raise money to donate to a charity. This force some students to face the challenges of working with others, talking to strangers, presenting their ideas and taking initiative.
