GE Food Garden

The Gleneagles Leadership Club, made up of grade 6 & 7 students, has been fundraising to build a vegetable garden on the school grounds. The beds will be built May 7th, 2011 and planting of heritage vegetables and berry bushes will happen shortly after. The Leadership Club also has plans to start a composting program for the school as well to help provide the garden with nutrient rich soil. Once built, classes from Kindergarten to grade 7 will use the garden as a learning garden. Over the hot summer months, the garden will be maintained by community members, as parents and students sign up a week at a time to water, weed and harvest the garden
