Feed the Shelter

SCVI's Aboriginal Student Committee (ASC) hopes to purchase ingredients for a healthy meal at Thunder Bay's Shelter House, and to actually cook the meal for the lunch shift on either a Saturday or Sunday in April, May, or June 2019. They also wish to purchase regularly requested items, such as: forks, spoons, bowls, and coffee with the money left-over from purchasing ingredients.

Update (May 13, 2019)

The ASC is visiting Shelter House on Sunday, May 19th, 2019 to complete their "Feed the Shelter" project. The final menu is as follows: Chili, chicken noodle soup, garden salad, and bread/buns for dipping. All of the ingredients will be purchased the day before their visit.

Update (May 21, 2019)

"Feed the Shelter" is officially complete!

4 of the Aboriginal Student Committee members volunteered their time on their holiday weekend to cook a healthy, hearty meal for the patrons of Thunder Bay's Shelter House. They cooked, served, and cleaned from 11:00 - 3:00, and it was estimated that they served a little over 150 people.

All members of the ASC are thankful for the money that was granted to them by Iamgineaction, because without them they wouldn't have been able to give back and support their community.
