Seven Oaks Met School Nutrition Wellness

One of my students Aidan Krassnigg has identified a need to improve student wellness. He has set out to create a cookbook targeted for teens so that they can create healthy comfort food. The goal in doing so is to give kids an outlet to express themselves in different ways while making healthy choices. Along with making the cookbook he will be learning through his internship at various restaurants skills that he will pass on to teens, so that they can learn to cook on their own as well. Aidan hopes to use the school kitchen and food labs to create a safe space for kids to have fun, express themselves and learn some valuable skills regarding nutrition. The ultimate goal is for kids to be able to use the recipes in the cookbook at home because it's therapeutic and could help them develop their wellness.
