Diversity Club

We have started a Diversity Club at our school for grade 7 and 8 students. This is based on the Gay-Straight Alliance model but with a broader goal. We are aiming to support all students who are struggling with or interested in issues of diversity and belonging. Our club is focused on discussing diversity in all its forms (gender expression, race, socio-economic, neuro, family composition, sexual orientation...).

Update (June 13, 2018)

We have a group that meets weekly to discuss issues related to diversity. For this grant, we bought a number of sets of diverse books. This allowed students to read diverse books in small book club groups. The books have been popular in the club as well as in my own classroom.
