Healthy Lifestyle

Walking club and in the mountains. The kids can be free, spontaneous, and it's a great way to spend quality time together to build a better teacher student relationship. The physical improvements you gain by walking can help to improve your mental health. Walking in a group is a great way to get started and stay motivated.

Update (April 6, 2018)

As a cycle two group, we all undergo physical fitness brain breaks in our classes. We have exercise bikes, yoga balls, elastic bands, etc. Our daily brain break will include jumping jacks, running on the spot, sit ups, chair squats, and walks around the block. We also participate in sliding, walking, hiking and other outdoor ed classes. On May 3rd, 55 students will be hiking Bromont Mountain. We will undergo a 2 hour (7 km) hike up the mountain. As well the students will participate in a nature quest as we walk.

Update (April 11, 2018)

Students take part in daily exercise in the classroom.

Update (May 10, 2018)

On May 7th, the cycle 2 classes went for a 4 hour hiking trip through the mountains and pathways of Mount Shefford. They were able to learn about nature along the way. All of the students were given a scavenger hunt sheet, where they had to find pine cones, rocks, etc. We were able to cross bridges, see waterfalls and along the way learn about trees and endangered flowers. They even saw a beaver dam and several geese. The students had a great adventure.
