Connections Throughout Generations

Our Kindergarten through Grade 2 classes will take turns visiting the local nursing home for a time of interacting and relationship building with the senior residents. The children will read story books that they are familiar with, share snacks, and make crafts with the residents. All activities will be based around themes (ex. fall, Christmas, Easter, etc.)

This project provides our children with the opportunity to get to know the older members of our community. The senior residents will benefit from these visits because for some, it's the only visitors they receive, due to family living too far away.

Update (June 20, 2018)

Our K-2 classes had a wonderful year full of weekly visits to the local nursing home. While there, students entertained the residents, made crafts and had snacks. The students and residents thoroughly enjoyed their time together.
