Water Quality Testing

This year students in Grade 10 from Maples Met School will undergo a series of experiences connected to water issues. Students will visit Oak Hammock Marsh, Fort Whyte Alive, learn from experts at Experimental Lakes Area and Fort Whyte Alive, applying and extending their knowledge into research projects around water issues. These projects can range from water quality, to access to clean water or climate change. Students from Grade 10 will present their work at a Water Conference in January 2018 to students from Grade 8 in Seven Oaks School Division, hosted at Maples Collegiate.

Students will purchase Water Testing kits from Lake Winnipeg Foundation, so that they can collect, analyze and draw conclusions from the quality of water at various sites in our community and watershed.
