Outdoor Classroom

I teach in a inner city school in Toronto and as such students have limited access to nature and the environment. Our goal is to further develop the school group by creating an outdoor learning space. The space will be used by the community and school.

Update (May 18, 2016)

We are in the process of transforming the school ground to honour our beloved colleague. Students are proposing various designs that could be incorporated.

We are also planning to purchase picnic tables from Home Depot to provide more seating for the students during the lunch hour.

Update (November 23, 2016)

The students used the outdoor space to complete their work during the hot months and we have witnessed community members using the space. We will be expanding the project by adding more seating and to add more trees and plants.
