Edible Walls

We would like to use the funding to purchase mobile edible walls for our school. The edible walls will feature flowers, herbs and vegetables that students will plant, maintain and consume. http://agreenroof.com/urban-farms/mobile-edible-walls/. The organization provides classroom materials and support.

Update (September 19, 2013)

Vertical Gardens/Living Walls – Watson Lake Secondary

As part of the social studies 10 curriculum we studies the migration of people across the prairies. As the immigrants were migrating to farm the rich soil, we too attempted to sow seeds in hopes that we may reap the rewards. The project was a success with tomatoes, zucchini, flowers, and herbs growing very well in our classroom. I would recommend this activity to other schools as it was engaging and worthwhile to all that were involved.

In total we constructed 4 living walls. There are two living walls that have not been planted yet and may be used for future classes.

I sincerely thank the Imagineaction / CTF for the opportunity,
