Who is my neighbour?

We hope to give a makeover for our neighbourhood Salvation Army Food/Clothing bank.
We will engage students in drafting, design, construction, art, music, religion. We also will mobilize the entire school to fill the shelves of the food bank after we have rebuilt it.

Update (February 1, 2011)

This week will have a general meeting of staff willing to participate. The plans for the rebuild have been made. "here we go!"

Update (April 14, 2011)

Tomorrow is the day!....After months of planning our rebuild begins..
About 100 kids per period will come to the food bank to clear everything out and then we begin painting and patching..
The welding students have worked non stop on building the new heavy duty shelving.

The entire school has almost doubled the amount of our initial grant with a penny drive. The rebuild is the talk of the school.

Update (April 17, 2011)

Well, we did it!..
Our hope was to "move that bus" by 5:30 on Saturday, but in true Northern Ontario fashion, we had a snowstorm on Saturday!

We are left with some minor construction, some more moving back in and some tidying up...

We will post some before and after shots...The transformation was astounding
