Rainbow Youth Alliance T- Shirts and Advocacy

Our Rainbow Youth Alliance is a very committed group at PACE. As an Alternative School we attract a large number of LGBT Queer and Trans youth who did not feel comfortable at main stream schools. This school is in it's second year. We would like to make T Shirts to become more visible, create a sense of solidarity and posters to educate about the issues facing queer and trans folk. We want to be able to offer free t shirts as most of our inner city population cannot afford to purchase one.
We are planing a coffee house in the beginning of May for our Rainbow Alliance, showcasing music and spoken word poems written about the issues important to this group of students. This event aims to celebrate the voice of queer youth and promote human rights. We will make a video featuring some of their amazing talent.
This video will be uploaded on Imagineaction’s website (Canadian Teacher's Federation) and we hope that it will also grace the 2014 CTF’s President’s Forum on Equity and Social Justice, in Winnipeg next July, as teacher organizations, educators and human rights activists from across the country gather.

Update (May 2, 2014)

We have been working hard making a difference here at PACE@PCVS. Here is the video we made so far.
