We will involve the community in this project by sharing our video with our school community at portfolio night. Depending on the logistics and the complexity of uploading the video to our school's website, we would like to put the video on the website so a greater audience would be able to watch the video. Also, as this project connects with our paper making project (Nathalie Hurdle), we will maintain this contact.

My Voice, Our Rights

Students at our school have started projects and initiatives that deal with recycling and reusing. They are passionate about what they do and are eager to teach their peers about the logistics of recycling and reusing. Now, we are beginning to connect their passion and knowledge about recycling and reusing to social justice and human rights. Students will conduct research and make personal and world connections to bring together their knowledge. Once they are ready, they will create a spoken words video to support the My Voice, Our Rights campaign. Students will use the technology that is already available to them to plan, create and record their video. The video will then be shared with our school community at curriculum evening.

Mise à jour (20 février 2014)

Our students remain passionate about recycling, reusing, the environment and human rights. We have just finished our logo contest and our t-shirts have been printed. Several students entered the logo contest, which made it difficult to decide on one logo. So, we decided to put a few logo ideas together and created the final result, which is the t-shirt in the photo (on the yellow paper).
After spring break, our students will practice and finalize their video(s) for our My Voice, Our Rights project. Up to now, our students have been researching and learning about human rights. We have also watched a few videos on the topic.
