Project of Heart aims to critically examine the history and legacy of Canadian residential schools, commemorate those who lost their lives while in residential schools, and encourage Canadians to take action through social justice pursuits. Project of Heart is described as an inquiry-based, hands-on collaborative approach to learning about the history of Aboriginal people in Canada. The project is divided into six steps: suggested inquiry/research questions, study of a specific residential school, creation of a gesture of reconciliation, a survivor visit, participation in a social justice action, and sharing learning through a blog.
