Update (November 4, 2014)

We would like to provide lunch/personal hygiene items to the homeless people of our community. We would like to do this because it is important to us to make people feel better and be healthier. We see the homeless people downtown and they look sad and they are asking for help. We would like to help them.

We would like to buy supplies for lunch and personal hygiene items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair brushes, combs, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, tissue, first aid kits, nonalcohol listerine, gum, halls.

We are going to partner with the Safe Harbour Day Center in Yellowknife NT.

We are going to make chili and bannock and deliver it one morning.

Update (January 15, 2015)

We completed our project this morning. We made brown bag lunches and chili and dropped it off to our local day shelter, Safe Harbour. We were hoping to walk over with the lunches ourselves but it was too cold, so we had another staff member drive the food over with a couple of students to represent us. The shelter staff were very appreciative!

Update (January 15, 2015)

Our student representatives who attended the Student Summit in Ottawa were so impressed with the play we saw "Danny, King of the Basement" that they decided to add this to our project as an awareness raising activity. We are working with our drama teacher to stage a production of the play in June through our Fine Arts classes.
